Google to Launch All New Gmail.

Remember the April Fool joke where Google said they’re launching a new Blue Gmail? Well, not a Blue Gmail but Google sure is launching a brand new Gmail version. In a major update, Google is adding some cool functionalities and changing a bit of the Gmail layout.

Gmail will now come with tabs and a new interface letting users organise their mails better. Google had rolled out the priority Inbox as an addition to the standard inbox last year. However, the new layout does more than distinguish between your priority mail and regular forwards.

The new tabbed layout will sort out mails under 5 tabs by default. The five tabs are: Primary, Social, Promotions, Updates, and Forums. The regular, important communication will stay in the standard or the Primary Inbox. While all messages from social networking sites will automatically be sorted under Social Tab, promotional material from e-commerce sites will be grouped under ‘Promotional’. Forums are for mailing lists and Updates are for confirmation mails.

Mails can be dragged and dropped between the different tabs and Google Blog said that Google will slowly ‘learn’ where you want each mail to go. Each of the tabs act as separate inboxes where you can view unread messages, keep track of mails, respond, etc.
